Buried, not stranded

StoneBlock flips the skyblock formula on its head: instead of floating in the void you wake fully encased in stone, no sky, no horizon, just darkness and the rock pressing in on every side. Every open space you'll ever have, you carve yourself. The third entry in FTB's StoneBlock series rebuilds that claustrophobic survival fantasy on Minecraft 1.18.2 with a deeper tech-and-magic tree and a guided campaign from the first block you break.

A quest book that teaches the pack

Progression runs on FTB Quests. From the Welcome and Getting Started chapters onward, the book hands you the thread: clear a pocket of stone, set up your first automation, unlock the next mod, repeat. Twenty chapters cover the whole journey, so you're never left guessing which of the hundreds of mods to touch next.

Making something from nothing

With no surface to farm, resource generation is the whole game. Resource Chickens lay everything from flint to diamonds to nether stars; mob farms turn a dark room into a drop machine; and ProjectE's EMC lets you transmute surplus into whatever you're short on. Early scarcity gives way to rivers of automated materials.

Pick a tech stack — or all of them

The industrial half of the pack is a buffet: Create's kinetic contraptions, Thermal Series machines, Mekanism's tiered factories, Immersive Engineering's wires and multiblocks, Industrial Foregoing's automation, Powah energy, and RFTools dimensions and builders. Most overlap on purpose — part of the fun is choosing which ecosystem powers your stone fortress.

Three schools of magic

Prefer spells to gearboxes? Ars Nouveau lets you author your own spells glyph by glyph, Botania draws power from living flowers and mana pools, and Blood Magic asks for a more personal sacrifice. Each has its own quest chapter and its own route to the lategame.

All the way to the end

The endgame chapters chase the genre's biggest prizes: Avaritia's absurd singularities and the Infinity-tier armor and tools that sit at the very top of the crafting pyramid. Closing out StoneBlock 3 means turning a hole in the rock into a fully automated factory that builds the most expensive items in modded Minecraft.
